Introducing the Polar Wilds,
where only the brave dare call it a home.
where only the brave dare call it a home.
The Polar Wilds is the common tongue name for the country to the west of most civilisation in our world.
It is home to the five clans of Wildling Unicorns, and their territories cover several different terrains - from the lush, almost jungle like forests that make up the Great Enchi Forest, to the wide open plains that lead both to the base of mountains, but also the mouth of an unforgiving desert to the north east.
In the long forgotten past, clans fought viciously for their territory, chasing away many and all species that wished to take shelter in their lands, leading to their commonly adopted name, 'Wildlings'. Whilst these aggressive times are long behind them, and now that trespassers become more and more frequent, some resentment between clans can still linger.
What Wildlings used to call themselves has now been lost to the ages.
Areas of significance:
(The Great) Enchi Forest-
A massive expanse of forest, more than likely the largest of their world. The Nerensis have proudly called it their home ever since records began. It stretches halfway across the Polar Wilds, meeting with the Pennine Peninsula. The Nerensis owe their natural swagger and pride down to their standing as the largest territory owners in the Wilds, a fact that has been taught to every young foal, even after the disputes were but legends.
Pennine Peninsula:
Arguably the largest expanse in the Polar Wilds, but technically remnants of unclaimed land that is now taken care of by the Philoden clan. Travelers by nature, many branches of the clan choose caravan like lifestyles, moving from place to place in order to farm and grow their favoured foods and plants they treasure. The Peninsula is hilly in areas, but otherwise largely flat and abundant in wild flowers and fresh streams.
Snowdon Falls:
Ajoining section of the Tverra Mountains, Snowdin Falls is the area where a large waterfall cascades, the mouth of which is rendered in two by the elements. The water below the falls are surprisingly warm. The Melursus call the area around this spectacle their home, and share good relationships with the Tarandus clan, who aid in their protection. In the past, this relationship was once quite the opposite.
Tverra Mountains:
The large mountain to which the proud, stoic Tarandus clan dwell. The strong icy winds and almost permanently snowy habitat makes it an unforgiving place to live, but the warrior clan takes it in their stride. Their home is shared with the Melursus clan to the east, and also the wolves who reside near the mountain top.
Serrano Terra:
The unknown and unexplored desert to the south east. Only sandstorms and deadly cold nights meet unsuspecting travelers.
Imagine the surprise that some Wildlings wish to call this their home, then! The Echinoden enjoy exploring the old ruins that scatter their landscape - though what race or culture made such old buildings remains unknown.

Wildling Unicorns: Updates 2017
WILDLING UNICORNS: Species Rules update, new information:
Wildlings are widely considered a semi-open species, as in they are free to make, but only under certain times or conditions. I believe it's time to make this status concrete. As the species grows larger, it will become harder for me to keep track of new designs to approve, and also where they are going, so unfortunately I will have to introduce additional guidelines in order to keep control of the species and the high standard we currently possess.
New Rotation Policy:
The biggest change you'll find this year.
As the species grows, so do the clans. However, some clans trail behind

Echinoden Clan
Sub-class of Philoden Clan
FAO: Clan Members,
The Echinoden are desert folk, hailing from the Serrano Terra area. Stories have it that their origins began with a troupe of Philoden getting lost, winding up upon the sands, though no Echinoden has any living memory of how their clan came about. Their resemblance to Philoden is obvious at first glance - all Echinoden display a roan marking that is common place in Philoden, and they also share the elongated fur resting upon their hips (also known as wing hips), though theirs point downwards to help sand slide off easier.
We have found that referring to any Echinoden as a Philode
Wildling Rite #6 - 'INTRODUCTIONS'
Wildling Rite #6:
Introductions
"the act of introducing or the state of being introduced"
"a formal personal presentation of one person to another or others"
Active until 5/11/17 (D/M/Y)
Introductions are important for many reasons. A foal's first meeting with their parents, grandparents, or even the entire family can be a momentous occasion. But how about their first real meeting with the clan leader(s)?
How would your Wildling react to meeting their clan leader face to face?

Does each clan have a sort of "capital" or main "cities" ? I put capital and cities in between " " as I don't really know if Wildling call them this way. I see more cities as actually headquarters or camp in my head.. so i'm wondering also how do they call them ?
